Charlotte Adigéry and Bolis Pupul living and creating in the moment for ADE Sound Lab

Tuesday, 30 July 2019
The Carribean-Belgian electro starlet Adigéry will be presenting her music alongside Bolis Pupul, and together the two will be digging deep into spontaneous and intuitive production.

After recent news about ADE Conference rounding up its first announcements and Hannah Wants and Emerald Lewis joining ADE Health we continue with sub-conference news as Sound Lab confirms more speakers for the program.

Living and creating in the moment doesn't mean disconnecting from knowledge, culture and history. And none know this better than Charlotte Adigéry and Bolis Pupul. Their music – and the theme of their presentation and workshop at ADE Sound Lab – is “all about playing around, hitting a nerve until some feel-good hormones start bubbling up and following that vein of pure, sparkly gold wherever it may lead”. But it also reflects their understanding of their heritage: both are from families from the Caribbean island of Martinique, with Adigéry's from Nigerian Yoruba lineage and Pupul descended from Chinese immigrants, all of which provides a rich starting pot of ingredients for their improvisations and explorations.

The enchanting music that resulted attracted the attention of no less than the Dewaele brothers (aka Soulwax) who signed them to their DEEWEE label, and their bursting creative process will be opened up for all to see at Sound Lab. In addition, Charlotte is also performing at this years ADE Live on October 16th at Melkweg.
