The Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) Foundation is the leading business platform for the electronic music industry and the world’s largest club festival for electronic music and dance culture. With over 200 venues, 3,000 performing acts, and approximately 500,000 visits from music lovers and professionals worldwide, Amsterdam becomes the global hub for electronic music for five days. Since 2019, the ADE Arts & Culture program has been an increasingly integral part of this, enriching and expanding the festival offerings through multidisciplinary crossovers.
Project Description & Responsibilities:
As an Arts & Culture Curator, you will be part of a team of curators representing various disciplines, including visual arts, public performance, club culture, and immersive art. In this role, you will connect artistically relevant partners and projects to ADE. Each curator manages their own working budget to develop programming within their respective discipline. You will collaborate closely with the team to create a diverse and innovative Arts & Culture program. The scope of the role is broad, with the primary goal of providing a platform for crossovers between electronic music and other music and art disciplines. This may include performances, installations, exhibitions, or other intercultural programs and interventions that enrich the ADE experience.
Your Profile:
+ You have a background in a specific artistic discipline or experience in programming (club) culture.
+ You are well-informed about artistic movements and developments within dance culture.
+ You have a broad network within the discipline you represent and can identify relevant trends or bottom-up initiatives.
+ You are a natural connector with strong communication skills and the ability to manage expectations effectively.
+ You are proactive and creative in exploring new opportunities.
+ Based in or near Amsterdam.
