Water is Life: A Circular Approach, presented by Circular Festivals
Speakers: Artur Mendes (Boom Festival), Marcus ten Zijthoff (Zwarte Cross), Christiaan Elings (Green Deal Circular Festivals)
Moderator: Alzira Schaap (Green Deal Circular Festivals)
This panel dives deep into the consequences of water related EU regulation and gives best practices for sustainable water management – extremely relevant to any outdoor event.
About this program
The Green Deal Circular Festivals (GDCF) is a cooperation of the Dutch government and a community of over 50 European frontrunner festivals, who have pulled together to speed up the transition towards circular and climate neutral festivals. GDCF plays a key role in bringing critical topics to the forefront and scaling up solutions. Therefore this panel program highlights the urgency of dealing with water at events in a sustainable and circular way.
Besides highlighting best practices and strategies to protect water quality by preventing pollution, reducing unnecessary water consumption, dealing with droughts and the increasing risks of waterlogging, this panel dives deep into the consequences of water related EU regulation - extremely relevant to any outdoor events. Through the cases of Zwarte Cross (NL) and Boom Festival (PT), we’ll examine the challenges and solutions, focusing on how collaboration with governments and involving the audience are essential to ensure a sustainable future for festivals:
– What are best practices and strategies to protect and improve water quality?
– What are strategies to reduce water consumption and re-use water?
– What are the consequences of the new EU regulation?
Who is this program for?
This panel is designed for event and festival organisers & sustainability event managers, governments, and suppliers. This program is part of ADE Green, please note that you need an ADE Pro or ADE Green ticket to join this program. For the full ADE Green program, please check here.
A collaboration between ADE Green and the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management
