Voices from and for Palestine
Conference
Voices from and for Palestine
Speakers: Sama' Abdulhadi (DJ), Liese Kingsma (Space of Urgency), Ahmad Mallah (Artist)
Moderator: Niloufar Nematollahi (Diaspora Radio)
This panel discussion brings together three voices from and for Palestine: one from electronic music, one from the visual arts, and one advocate for oppressed voices reclaiming cultural spaces.
By centering the struggles these individuals have faced in the past year in particular, the discussion navigates the possibilities and limits of resistance through art in the face of ongoing institutional silencing.
Sama' Abdulhadi’s music and activism have brought a unique voice from Ramallah's underground to the global techno scene, carving out space for Palestinians in the mainstream. Adding onto her insights of how displacement, diaspora, and identity shape creative expression, is a visual artist from the Palestinian diaspora, based in Amsterdam, Ahmad Mallah. Their perspective will shed light on the intersection of visual arts, music, and activism. Liese Kingsma is known for her work in reclaiming marginalized cultural spaces through Space of Urgency. She will join this discussion to add the perspective of supporting Palestinian artists in cultural spaces. These voices will be facilitated by Niloufar Nematollahi (Diaspora Radio), a writer and cultural organizer with extensive experience in Palestinian solidarity and the intersection of politics and electronic music.
Who is this program for?
This panel is designed for those who want to listen to the personal stories of Palestinian artists in electronic music and cultural spaces, as well as gain insights on what it’s like to support these artists publicly.
This program is part of ADE Green, and was curated with the aid of Hani Rahsepar (Diaspora Radio). Please note that you need an ADE Pro or ADE Green ticket to join this program. For the full ADE Green program, please check here.
