During Amsterdam Dance Event 2024, RARA AVIS returns to NYX. RARA AVIS is a dance party uniquely tailored for queer individuals who enjoy dressing up and experimenting with makeup. A place for all the techno clowns & club kids to come out and play! RARA AVIS is a techno & house-infused queer party that embraces the unconventional, the rare, and the extraordinary…in all of us. It provides a safer space for the new & older generation of queer individuals to explore, express, and evolve, adding a pop of color in the dark world of techno, swapping the black techno wear with vibrant looks to openly express oneself.
This isn't just your everyday kiki; it's a colorful and extraordinary experience, an opportunity for those who crave the thrill of the unconventional. RARA AVIS offers a fusion of Techno, House and Disco spun by queer DJs, celebrating the rich diversity of our community. It's a celebration of acceptance that brings people together through music, performances, and creativity. Step off the beaten path, spread your wings, and dance!

At Rara Avis we embrace the unconventional, the rare, and the extraordinary. Please be aware that this is an outspoken queer event that offers a safer space in nightlife. Absolutely no racism, sexism, no homophobia, no transphobia, no violence. Harassment of any kind will not be tolerated.
Nyx was the Greek goddess of the night, the daughter of Chaos. She would soar through the sky in her horse-drawn carriage, spreading a blanket of night behind her as she went, veiling the earth in darkness. According to myth she mothered several children, like Hemera (day), Oneiroi (dreams) and Philotes (friendship). All in all, the name NYX fits both the venue (the building was built as a carriage house originally) as the nightclub perfectly.
The club consists of three floors, each floor offering a different style of music, which gives one the opportunity to experience several atmospheres during one night. NYX’s most important goal is to provide an experience that revolves around having fun. Because after all, that is what clubbing is about: drinking, dancing and laughing. This is reflected in all aspects: the music; the entertainment; the décor; the staff; and the guests. No pretention, no attitudes. Another aspect this is reflected in is our door policy. NYX is a melting pot of likeminded, multiminded people; people who are out to have a good time, to enjoy themselves and enjoy each other.

Not to worry! Make sure to contact the event (or their ticketing provider) you are visiting as soon as possible with as many details about your order; name, email address, amount of tickets, etc. Once they've recovered your order, the tickets can be resent to your email.

Most festival events have an age limit of 18+ (and sometimes even 21+ or 23+). These are Dutch governmental rules which state that below the age of 18 you are not allowed to enter a club.
Please double-check the promoter's or venue's website to be sure you can access the event!
Yes, the Pro Pass grants you access to all ADE official festival events. Even if a festival event is sold out, you can still access the event with your ADE Pro Pass wristband. During ADE there are over 500 festival events and hundreds more cultural and conference events you can enter with the wristband. One thing to keep in mind is that there is a limited capacity that each venue can take into account for ADE Pro wristband holders. This means that, for some of the more crowded events, you have to arrive early to ensure attendance. Once capacity is reached, ADE Pro holders will be let into the event on a one in-one-out basis.
We dance together, so please be mindful of yourself and each other. We expect an open attitude from our visitors towards other guests, regardless of their origin, gender, sexual orientation, religion and age. If you see or experience any unwanted attention, harassment or behavior of any kind that makes you uncomfortable, please speak out and notify staff.
