Occo Codex '24 Live

Museum Our Lord in the Attic is a seventeenth century hidden church in the middle of the Amsterdam Red Light District. Originated in a period of religious turmoil in Europe, today it’s a place for contemplation and conversation on themes as tolerance and the interreligious society.

For Amsterdam Dance Event the museum invited DJ and producer JP Enfant to compose a contemporary interpretation of the sixteenth century choirbook the Occo Codex (1515-1517). He will perform this interpretation live in the hidden church with organ player Pietro Paganini during ADE Thursday and ADE Friday.

JP Enfant
DJ and Producer JP Enfant is known for building an electric connection on the dancefloor. Over the years he has become an influential entity in Amsterdam's techno scene and beyond and held residencies at the iconic clubs TROUW and De School. His club nights were known for introducing a broad spectrum of innovative underground techno and house artists to the Dutch electronic scene.

Pietro Paganini

Pietro Paganini is a keyboard player specialised in Early Music. He studied harpsichord and organ with Ton Koopman and Tini Mathot. After a master's degree at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague, he pursued advanced education at the HMDK Stuttgart. A recording with music by J.S. Bach is scheduled for September 2024. In addition to an international career, he is organist of the Ons' Lieve Heer op Solderkerk since 2022.

Museum Ons' Lieve Heer op Solder

Our Lord in the Attic Museum

Hidden in the heart of Amsterdam's city centre lies a small wonder: Museum Ons' Lieve Heer op Solder. Visitors go on a voyage of discovery in a rare well-preserved canal house from the 17th century. Narrow corridors and stairs lead to historically furnished living rooms, kitchens and box beds, ending in what is literally the highlight of the museum: a complete church in the attic.

The museum tells the story of tolerance in the city. Our Lord in the Attic was built in an atmosphere of religious tolerance which had grown on the foundations laid by Willem van Oranje in the 16th century. Today, freedom of religion and freedom of conscience are still tangible ideas in the museum, and are major sources of inspiration for our activities.
