Positive Impact Evaluation: what’s beyond the triple bottom line?
Speaker: Meegan Jones (Director, Institute for Sustainable Events and GreenShoot Pacific)
What does impact evaluation look like as we move into the next phase of event sustainability practice? In this keynote and ensuing discussion, Meegan Jones dives into evaluating and reporting event impacts.
About this program
As sustainability management in organisations, festivals and events matures, we must advance our approach to impact evaluation. We should reflect deeply on the real reasons we want environmental, social, cultural or economic sustainability.
Meegan Jones, a pioneer in event sustainability management, has been taking time in 2024 to reflect on the evolution of the practice and what the next phase looks like. While writing an updated edition of Sustainable Event Management – A Practical Guide, Meegan has extensively expanded the social, cultural, legacy, impact, purpose, and inclusion topics into a new book, which presents a blueprint for event impact evaluation beyond the triple bottom line. Meegan Jones will address:
– What does event impact evaluation look like next?
– How does beginning with the end in mind help?
— How can we move beyond reporting outcomes to truly evaluating impacts?
This session takes sustainability managers on a retrospective of event impact evaluation models, considers what reporting looks like today, and proposes a blueprint for impact evaluation for the future. Discussion is encouraged, so bring your perspective and questions!
