machìna x Roelof Knol Interactive A/V performance 'Action'
machìna x Roelof Knol Interactive A/V performance Concept: A/V live performance that showcases real-time on-stage movements through an interactive and innovative experience.
machìna: A live dance music performance centred around a singular drum machine, with music from her latest release 'Action'. ‘Action’, is an ongoing series inspired by creating dance music from essential sources of rhythm and sound. The abstraction of simple techno beats and the processed overlaying of musical percussions is at the core of this exploration into the depth and complexity of techno. The live show is pared back, designed to be able to play in a variety of venues, with an affordance that allows the music to be tweaked on stage for the occasion. Live music for dancing. Visual artist Roelof Knol adds an extra dimension to the performance, inviting the audience to expand their auditory experience and immerse themselves in a captivating audio-visual journey. He will create a real-time light performance defined by bold, minimalist aesthetics. Responsive to movement and sound, the light intervention complements machìna’s irresistible beats, amplifying the energy she radiates through her presence. It aims to push the boundaries and showcase a blend of simplicity with a return to a hardware-style live performance. The goal is to demonstrate the process of creating and tweaking sounds on stage and visually engage the audience. This collaboration will allow for an interactive, analogue approach to showcasing the sound creation process, fostering a new connection between music, visuals, and the present moment.
