IP and royalty management in a fragmented digital music ecosystem: On-chain solutions by Original Works and KOR Protocols

Speakers: Gilad Woltsovitch (Original Works), Inder Phull (KOR Protocol), More TBA

Workshop led by: Maarten Walraven (MUSIC x)

Bedroom producers and musicians like to play with music, which gets repurposed, remixed, and reinvented faster and faster. Across UGC platforms and with the advent of AI tooling and generative AI, music continues to become ever more interactive, representing a challenge for both rights owners and the labels who represent them. Throughout these developments, we need to get better at assigning ownership, settling attribution, and understanding where to monetize. Across our music ecosystem, there are many opportunities for monetization — this session will help you understand how to connect them, using real-world examples of how KOR Protocol and Original Work interact to offer more protection and new revenue streams to artists and labels, with new tracks from courtesy of mau5trap.

KOR Protocol
offers strong support for user-generated content (UGC), AI remixes, and in-game monetization. Its advanced tools empower creators and their communities to generate, remix, and create content, driving dynamic user engagement and transforming traditional media formats.

Original Work
s provides the web3 music stack for creators to monetize their music IP, for music businesses to bridge royalty payments on-chain, and for developers to build high-performance applications aimed at bringing greater transparency, liquidity, and price discovery to the music IP market.

In other words, to truly take advantage of the different ways to protect and monetize music IP generated on platforms like KOR, it must first become a digital asset that can connect traditional royalty systems to on-chain protocols and DeFi projects, features made possible by the infrastructure layer that Original Works has built. The full scope of the music ecosystem is available to anyone — independent artists, producers, DJs, and record labels — who is willing to maintain self-custody of their IP rights and maximize value across the different infrastructures for production and distribution available to them.
