How to Green a Giant Dragonfly

How to Green a Giant Dragonfly
Speakers: Claire O'Neill (Co-Founder, A Greener Future/Grid Faeries), Bert Cole (Technical Director, Arcadia Spectacular)
Moderator: Chloe Johnson (Chief Client Officer, Verifi Media)
When Arcadia launched The Dragonfly earlier this year, it generated media coverage that was the equivalent of 315 million impressions, not a bad start for a project that has since gone on to embody everything that's right and good about risk-taking, creating meaningful art, raw inspiration, and doing right by the planet. The Dragonfly's appearance at Glastonbury caused a sensation for its aesthetics, as well as for the fact that it was built from scrap, and entirely powered by Green energy, using batteries for power, and bio ethanol for flames. Arcadia Spectacular's Director & Co-Founder Bert Cole and A Greener Future/Grid Faeries' Co-Founder Claire O'Neill, will be looking at the broader implications of being able to power such an ambitious project renewably, as well as discussing how to buy a scrap helicopter and the repurposing of technology, the birthing of the concept, its symbolism and back story, bringing people together, how to work with nature to develop a design, and the tech integration that saw it become the big talking point of this year's Glastonbury.
