From Niche to Next Level

Speakers: Indira Paganotto (Artist), Ilja Reiman (Founder, Multigroove), Reza Fathi (Founder, R&M Events - Verknipt)

Moderator: Holly Dicker (Journalist, Author)

What does it take to get from a niche to the next level? This conversation will explore this topic from multiple angles, and all participants have hands-on experience of taking a niche to the next level. Ilja Reiman, the originator of the ‘Gabber’ movement, which became massively popular in a short time, the scene has since had a huge impact on music and culture in general. Gabber even made it to the Eurovision Song Contest earlier this year. Reza from Verknipt has an entirely different story. During COVID, they reinvented the identity of the Verknipt concept and went all-in on hard techno, which has worked out really well. It was a huge gamble since hard techno was still considered a niche. Now it's gone to the next level. And last but not least, from the artist perspective. What was Indira’s road to success? How did she find her identity as an artist? What are some of the core strengths that allowed her to grow? And at what point in her career did she realize she had all the ingredients needed to become one of the biggest acts in the scene by staying authentic?
