Detroit’s legendary producer J Dilla revolutionized the art of electronic beat making. He has heavily impacted the rhythm and heartbeat of a wide range of modern music. From hip-hop to house, and from live shows to the dance floor, his inventions and techniques influenced numerous artists, musicians, DJ’s and producers, and his electronic approach heavily impacted the evolution of live drumming.
Dilla is a generational musical pioneer. At ADE we celebrate his mind-blowing influence and legacy in the year he would have been 50 years old with a unique program. Featuring a 1-on-1 Q&A with special guest Maureen ‘Ma Dukes’ Yancey, Dilla’s mother who protects and oversees Dilla’s estate and legacy.
