CSRD, a tool for change?
Speakers: Joris Beckers (Tomorrowland), Wim Bartels (EFRAG Sustainability Reporting Board), Martin Thim (NorthSide), Erik van Donselaar (CEO Donselaar Groep)
Moderator: Nicolette Loonen (founding partner of Toscatribe)
This program discusses New European legislation on sustainability, as well as its consequences for events – based on input from a large music festival, an event supplier, an experienced CSRD consultant, a CSRD project on Tomorrowland festival, and a European Commission representative.
About this program
Urgent new European sustainability legislation is on the horizon: the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD). While initially aimed at large companies with over 250 employees, CSRD will soon affect smaller businesses, suppliers, and event organizers — making it a critical issue for the music industry.
This panel discussion, moderated by Nicolette Loonen of Toscatribe, will explore CSRD's consequences and potential benefits in the events industry. Wim Bartels (Deloitte, EFRAG) shares his insights on compliance with CSRD, Erik van Donselaar (Donselaar Group) will cover the challenges suppliers face in meeting these new requirements, and Joris Beckers (Tomorrowland) and Martin Thim (NorthSide Festival) will address its effects on festivals, including first-hand experiences from a major festival already navigating CSRD.
Additionally, we will share key takeaways from the CSRD roundtable hosted by Green Deal Circular Festivals earlier in the day, where we explored the potential for a Voluntary Standard (VSME) tailored to the EU music industry. Key questions we will address include:
– How can I prepare my organization for CSRD legislation?
– What opportunities does CSRD present for my business?
– How can I maximize sustainability gains under CSRD?
– What strategies can I use to manage the financial and administrative impacts?
Who is this program for?
