After recents news about Calling out talent for Writers Camp and Caterina Barbieri, Ruben Spini and Tim Hecker to take on Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ, we continue with ADE Beam Lab, taking place on the evening of October 16th at De Brakke Grond.

ADE Beam Lab reveals its program, hosting conversations with:

Polina Zakh

Polina Zakh is Creative Lead at Sila Sveta Studio, working on major projects including visuals for the Drake ‘Scorpion’ tour, the Met Gala interactive experience, Cardi B's BET Awards performance, visuals for the Alexander Wang show, as well as a collaboration with Ian Schrager and Edition Hotels amongst others. With a background in Art & Business and Cross-Cultural Communication, Polina is constantly exploring new ways of using a mix of new technologies and art to engage audiences in live performances.

Christopher Bauder
Christopher is one of the most important artists/designers working in this area. In the club world, his kinetic light installation for the Hakkasan nightclub in Las Vegas is probably his best-known work, alongside SKALAR, an art installation that explores the complex impact of light and sound on human perception. SKALAR was created by Bauder and Kangding Ray, in collaboration with the CTM Festival and Kraftwerk Berlin, and was a sensation in a city that thinks it has seen it all

Pip Rush Jansen

The internationally renowned Arcadia Spectacular, best known for their iconic 50 tonne mechanical spider, alongside award winning immersive shows such as Metamorphosis, are a truly unique creative force. Fusing sculpture, engineering, high octane spectacle and breathtaking special effects, they have transported party goers from around the globe into awe inspiring worlds and sensory experiences. This year Arcadia returned to Glastonbury, with a gigantic new installation, and founder and creative director Pip Rush Jansen will be at ADE to discuss the project, the challenges associated with its construction, and the ground breaking innovations embedded in it.

Lucas van Oostrum
Franchise Freedom is a performative artwork by Studio Drift merging nature and technology to create an immersive experience. The performance is accompanied by live piano music from Joep Beving, enhancing the natural senses and emotions that the unique use of technology evokes. Studio Drift created a biological algorithm based on over 10 years of research into natural swarm behavior and embedded this into the drones used for Franchise Freedom. At ADE Beam Lab drone technologist Lucas van Oostrum from Studio Drift will explain how hundreds of the luminous objects perform an aerial choreography simulating a flock of starlings, flying autonomously and exploring the individual versus the group.
