Health, both physical and mental, has been at the forefront of discussions in the music industry as well as most industries. As artists, audiences and the supporting industry struggle with an enormous amount of impulses, opportunities and impressions, the urge to unwind and reflect increases.

In order to facilitate a balanced experience and to highlight new forms of it, ADE has brought together artists, designers and performers alike in the unique setting of De Waalse Kerk to ease the mind in the middle of all day- and nighttime activities.

The ADE Zen Space features a central light- and sound installation by Studio Koen Steger, which invites visitors to lie down, unwind and wander off. The work translates the experience of serenity in natural environments to the center of Amsterdam. This installation runs daily from noon until sundown. To enhance this experience, you can join one of the yoga classes by Equal Yoga or crystal singing bowl mediation sessions by Kim Booth in the space.

On Thursday visitors can also join in on a one of a kind sleeping concert, presented by Circle of Live and Breakfast Club. During this all-night ambient improvisation, the first one of the collectives brand new “In Dreams” sleeping concert series, Johanna Knutsson and Sebastian Mullaert will guide the audience through their dreams for 8 hours during regular sleeping times.

The intention behind these all-night, improvised, live ambient performances is to explore the full range of mind states occurring between sleep and consciousness, in the context of a shared collective experience. Starting at 11 PM the event will conclude with a breakfast at 7 AM and provide a chance for everyone to reflect on and exchange stories from their experiences during a night of mutual dreaming. Please note: the capacity for this event is very limited, due to that it is only accessible for those who have purchased a single 'In Dreams' ticket, more info can be found here.

Amongst the special programming are art installations by Studio Yūgō; an express self-meditation session in Calm Spaces "Ademruimte"; the premiere of dance-performance Body In Water by choreographer Magnus Westwell and artist Portrait; Joe Muggs’s Ambient Salon and many more.

The ADE Zen Space will be open from ADE Wednesday to Saturday from 12 untill 9 PM and accessible for ADE Card, ADE Pass and ADE Conference Pass holders. Looking to get more insights? Visit the Health verticle at ADE Pro.
