G-Star RAW's Rokin hub boasts a pop-up record store and DJ sets
In its three years of partnering with Amsterdam Dance Event, G-Star RAW has constantly upped the ante, laying claim to some of the past editions' most memorable moments. This year, next to turning their head offices into a rave den with Audio Obscura, designing the official ADE backpack, and setting up their The Sound Of RAW competition, the denim makers have another trick up their sleeves.
Digging with drinks
From October 20th through the 22nd, G-Star RAW is transforming its Rokin store into a pop-up record shop with Amsterdam's webshop and vinyl distributor One Eye Witness. Run by DJs Rey Colino and Hylke and celebrating its second anniversary this month, One Eye Witness has been steadily making a name for itself through its collection of cutting-edge sounds. So you can expect the crates to be packed with tons of underground selections and releases from indie labels across the spectrum of house, techno and electro – from four-to-the-floor wigglers to more experimental endeavours.
On ADE Thursday and Friday, the store's soundtrack will be provided live by Future Intel. The streaming platform, hailing from The Hague, has become a prominent proponent of the Dutch scene during the pandemic and is inviting the likes of Jasmín, Mary Lake, MSJY, NVST, Simo Cell and Soft Break to grace its booth. So be sure to drop by to browse the crate and have a few drinks if you're in town. If not, you can always tune into Future Intel’s website to stream the in-store action.
