Kicking off ADE in full swing
What better way to dive into ADE 2024 than by celebrating the evolution of music culture?
For the special tribute ADE Opening Concert: 50 Years of J Dilla, Melkweg once again welcomes the world-renowned Metropole Orkest, this time collaborating with multi-instrumentalist and composer Miguel Atwood-Ferguson. On ADE Wednesday, they will present a homage to J Dilla, one of the most admired and influential hip-hop producers of the 2000s, whose inventive beats shaped electronic music as we know it today.
From roots to the present, the opening night also welcomes the Londoner Floating Pointswho excels on the piano and behind the turntables. As a versatile producer, he has mastered a range of genres, from house and jazz to ambient and electronica, and is sure to hook you with his gripping sound.
Later in the night, Oliver Heldens takes the stage. By now, he doesn’t need an introduction anymore, as he’s been at the forefront of dance music with his signature 'future house' sound. Under his HI-LO moniker, he continues to deliver festival-ready techno anthems that keep the energy high.
Bass and Breaks — Feel it in your chest
Tailored for fans of fast breakbeats, The North Quarter Label Night switches up the sound to soulful drum and bass the following night. In collaboration with 'Curated By', the lineup includes Vanity Roxane, Lenzman, Echobrown, and more, offering whirlwind tempos and powerful sub-bass in the intimate upstairs room.
Adding to the bass excitement is the Monstercat link-up with Germany's largest bass festival, Blacklist. Each year, the ADE Monstercat showcase gets bigger, and and this year is no exception with Dillon Francis, Gladde Paling, WHIPPED CREAM, and more.

Melkweg’s ADE Friday reaches far into electronic music
Speaking of artists with a sweet taste for the extraordinary, ADE Friday features Uncle Waffles, serving the finest amapiano beats. Globally renowned for her work in the genre, the Swazi-born DJ and producer has been dubbed the ‘princess of amapiano’ by Billboard. You’re invited to the royal celebration of South African percussive basslines, drums, and everything that gets your body moving.
It’s been ten years! The long-awaited return of Planet Delsin at Melkweg brings back the showcase of Delsin Records, one of Amsterdam’s premier independent labels for techno, electro, and experimental electronics. The event promises top-notch electronic sounds, including the hypnotic dub techno of .VRIL, Machine Woman’s left-field electro experiments, the acid-tinged techno of Artefakt, and much more.
Brace yourself for the 19th edition of Dave Clarke Presents, featuring the one and only Len Faki. Dave Clarke also invited Paula Temple for another whip of her relentless beats and Detroit live-maestros Octave One and their soulful groove. The brutalist club night also sees the iconic KITTIN, DJ Stingray 313, and a live show by Curses.
