Merging physical and virtual worlds at ADE Pro with Blendrealities

Monday, 22 August 2022
After a successful pilot last year, ADE is teaming up with Amsterdam based startup Ravel to give visitors a hands-on glimpse into the future during ADE Pro. Conference delegates (in Amsterdam and worldwide) can get ready for for an eventful excursion into the metaverse on October 19th and 20th. Among the first confirmed speakers are ex-Google software engineer Blake Lemoine on the ethics of AI, and Chief Digital Officer at Warner Music Oana Ruxandra on the impact of web3 on the music industry.

Just last year, Blendrealities’ hybrid pilot proved a big success in allowing people from all over the world to enjoy a piece of ADE without having to step foot in Amsterdam. Culminating in the personalized avatars taking part in the digital twin of ADE Pro homebase Felix Meritis, the pilot opened the world of possibilities around the digital space. This year, the hybrid experiment will be upscaled into an extensive program of insightful speakers, bending and blurring the reality between the virtual and the physical.

ADE and Ravel are joining forces in extending the creative spirit of Amsterdam’s narrow streets into the bytes of data that conform the metaverse — aiming to future-proof the ADE Pro conference even further and, by using the latest metaverse technology, to blend the experience of online and offline visitors into a smart hybrid events.

Blendrealities, a two-part hybrid and virtual event, brings together creators, artists, and tech enthusiasts alike. The first half of the program is hosted as a hybrid experience, where guests can join physically at Felix Meritis Amsterdam or, if they can’t make it, hop in online with their avatars in a digital twin of the venue.

The second half of the event takes place fully online in a virtual world commemorating one of Amsterdam’s recognisable landmarks. Discussing the subject metaverse in the metaverse is by definition meta, creating an interesting layer to the program of mind-provoking panel discussions and insightful dialogues. Together with co-curating partner met-ams.xyz, Blendrealities has already announced the first two speakers of the event: Blake Lemoine - the now-famous ex Google engineer who recently claimed the company's LaMDA AI is sentient - will join us to talk about the ethics of advanced AI, and Oana Ruxandra (Chief Digital Officer, Warner Music) will share her insights about the impact of web3 technology on the music industry.

The full lineup of speakers will be announced in the upcoming weeks. The ADE Pro Pass grants access to the full hybrid program. Visitors can follow the event physically at Felix Meritis in the heart of Amsterdam, or tune in with a personalized avatar through the digital twin of the venue.
