ADE Arts & Culture announces a diverse palette of events across the city
Culture awaits right outside of Central Station
Who says the city centre is just for tourist highlights? Our ADE Arts & Culture program takes you to places that hold a lot of cultural history.
Het Stadsarchief x Het Archief (De School) at Stadsarchief Amsterdam
Many clubs enforce a no-photo policy, yet we notice that outside of the club, almost everything is being recorded, both with and without permission. How can clubs and archival institutions handle heritage and pass it on to the next generation when there are no, incomplete, or one-sided representations? How does a nightclub preserve its legacy of unique live performances for the future, especially one that thrived on 'living in the moment'? Legendary club De School’s innovative approach to club archiving has drawn international attention, offering valuable lessons for event organizers.
Join one of three exclusive ADE Arts & Culture events at Het Stadsarchief:
- Privacy and Night Culture: A panel/talk on privacy and night culture, specifically geared toward professionals in the event industry on ADE Wednesday
- Het Klaslokaal x Het Archief: A workshop (that isn't a workshop) and presentation on Het Archief, the digital sound archive of De School with Melisa Cenik and Jasmin Hoek on ADE Thursday
- Modern Ways of Audio Archiving: A panel/talk to share ideas and experiences on audio archiving on ADE Thursday
Diaspora Radio: ABADIR & Hogir / Karima el Fillali at BIMHUIS
Leave it up to Diaspora Radio to combine oriental sounds and live futuristic tones in the best way. This immersive experience at one of the city's most well-known panoramic buildings, BIMHUIS, pays homage to the voices from the SWANA (South West Asia & North Africa) diaspora. The team partners up with Diaspora Radio, originally born as a radio show on Echobox Radio, to present a live showcase on ADE Friday with artists ABADIR, Hogir Göregen, and Karima el Fillali.
Up North – it's just a free ferry ride away
NIGHT VISIONS [Masterclass + A/V Performance] at MACA Moving Arts Centre Amsterdam
NIGHT VISIONS invites you on a journey to explore the dynamic convergence of immersive art and nightlife. Discover how these two dynamic worlds are increasingly blending and reshaping the landscape of electronic music. This hybrid event features two workshops and a live A/V performance, and brings together three artists that are at the forefront of this new movement: Gizem Öz, Pauric Freeman and Sebastiaan Smink.

Close together, bridging the gaps..
.. between the South and East of the city
ADE x K&N: Crafting Rhythms and Knitting Communities at Volkshotel
This gathering offers a creative sanctuary to unwind and reconnect after a hectic ADE week. Dive into an evening where rhythm and craft intertwine, providing the perfect atmosphere to chill, create, and connect, with music by DJ SERKET. The Knitting performance kXtog invites you collectively work on a knitted piece under the guidance of artist Rosa Mol. Knit in sync with the beats and experience the meditative flow of crafting together, or join the lecture, where you can expand your understanding of rhythm and crafting with Nina Dam's insightful lecture, 'Crafting Experiences Through Rhythm'.
Art up with ADE at Rijksmuseum
Rijksmuseum is partnering with musician Elias Mazian for this edition of ADE Arts & Culture, where guided DJ tours connect music with visual art. As well as connecting his own musical career with a Rembrandt painting in the museum, Elias has invited three fellow music makers – Sarkawt Hamad, Nedda Sou and DJ Shahmaran – to share their stories in unique personal tours of the museum. Each musician will forge links between artworks in our permanent display and their artistic motivation and approach.

No Matter What | R3LN4CHT at RAUM
No Matter What is a poignant, theatrical love letter to your very best friend. The performance is an ode to toxic patterns, destructive forces, and new forms of intimacy. This theatrical performance on queer friendship takes place on ADE Thursday and is based on research by R3LN4CHT, the collective that found that queer friendships in literature and movies often revolve around a secret, unrequited love. What forms does intimacy take in a relationship where this doesn’t play a role? Find out during 'No Matter What'.
Prior to No Matter What, join the performative intervention by Content y Contenido; Lucía Vives and Ingeborg Kraft Fermin as 'artners'. Since 2020, they have been experimenting with the ethos ‘fake it till you make it’ and have accelerated the tensions between oversharing and storytelling through performance and installations. By embracing these characters, they have been exploring pop-cultural concepts such as the poetics of daily life, 12-second attention span, gender politics, instant gratification, and - most importantly - fun.
On ADE Saturday, RAUM invites you to SPATIAL ODYSSEYS: At Home Edition, an exhibition and multiple performances by Club RAUM's team. More info will follow soon.
Stage of Mind: Beyond The Dance Floor at DB55
Looking for authentic connections with like-minded people, where you truly feel seen and heard during your ADE weekend? Meeting new people can be challenging, often leaving us unsure of what to say or how to connect. Head over to one of ADE's newest venues, DB55, on ADE Saturday for 'Beyond The Dance Floor', a vibrant, safe, and welcoming space to recharge, connect, and be inspired.
This 2-hour immersive event is guided by Áquila Allucard, who masterfully blends entertainment and personal growth in the 'Edutainment' format. Expect an evening that challenges and uplifts your mind and soul. Setting the mood is Music Director Jarl Hector, also known as DJ YARL or JF.HECTOR, who will take you on an ambient journey with his curated soundscapes. The space itself is thoughtfully designed and decorated by Jamal Erbilir, creating an energy that enhances every moment.
