Zeynep Erbay (TR)
Zeynep Erbay is a Turkish music producer and DJ.Her affinity with music began with piano lessons in her early childhood, which then continued in the form of a classical piano training in the conservatory. Studying music theory from a young age, she grew a deep understanding of rhythm and sound. It was later, however, during her university that she was introduced to the beats of the dance floor, when she began curating radio shows for influential local stations in Istanbul.
Through radio, Zeynep not only sharpened her music research techniques, but also explored new genres that gradually shaped her musical development. She was selected to the RedBull Music Academy where she met and shared the decks with the likes of The Aloe Black, Greg Wilson, Mizel Brothers, Joe Batan, Skream, Gerd Janson, BenjiB, Aroop Roy, Stave Spacek, Nina Kraviz to name a few.
Her track titled Flowers was featured in the album Future Sound of Jazz 11 by Compost Records, along with names such as Dennis Ferrer, Solomun & Stimming, and Koop. Her interest in creating musical stories are mostly inspired from personal experiences and birthed synthed out house & disco EP ‘Escape From the Toxic Train’ released from Soul Clap Records and her second EP 'Flashlights on Love’. Zeynep’s remix for SoulClap was featured in their album titled WTF: Transformed & Remixed, which included names such as Seth Troxler, A-Track, Tod Edwards and Terry Hunter among others.
Her release on Exploited showcases her classical piano training and eclectic tastes. "Dream of You" and "Disillusion" both demonstrate her ability to create emotive and intricate melodies that take the listener on a journey.Release also supported from many artists including Chloe, Perel, Eelke Kleijn, Alinka, Renato Kohen,Horse Meat Disco, Invoker.
Also her remix for Underground System and Soul Clap made heads turn and captured significant attention within the scene. Supported by names like Soul Clap, Horse Meat Disco, Fish Go Deep, Chloe and Perel, Zeynep's music resonates within the electronic music community.
Zeynep’s Healer EP for NuNorthen Soul released both digital & vinyl showcases the more atmospheric, sun-kissed end of her productions, taking a turn away from synth-powered, disco-leaning club tracks towards something more suitable for al-fresco events, sun-down sets, and sofa-bound listening sessions.. Acknowledgment from stalwarts like Damian Lazarus, Bill Brewster, and Richard Dorfmeister further underscores her versatility, allowing her music to find a home in diverse settings, from outdoor events to intimate listening sessions.
She is a well-known DJ in the Istanbul scene, known for creating high levels of positive energy during her gigs. She has graced the stages of some of top festivals and coolest clubs including Sonar Festival Istanbul, Amsterdam Dance Event, Sisyphos Berlin, Sameheads, Mix Festival Istanbul, Nublu NewYork , The Gun London, Istanbul Jazz Festival and more. She is also a regular at one of the coolest and most revered underground clubs in the city, the legendary 'Gizli Bahçe.' Additionally, she has performed for top-notch brands such as Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Adidas X Gucci, Jacquemus, Elle Style Awards, Levis, and more.
