Tedd Patterson (US)

Artist

“Tedd Patterson is a real New York institution; he’s from the dance floor. He was A force during the 90's heyday of Sound Factory and SoundFactory Bar, and you can hear that heritage in his productions and whenhe plays. In my opinion, Tedd’s a real torch-bearer for all that is fabulousand legendary about NYC.” — Terry Farley

Upon his arrival in NYC from Atlanta in the 90’s, Tedd established himself as a rising star in the underground dance music scene. As the in-house record promoter at Emotive Records and then at Liquid Groove, Tedd helped both labels become ones to watch and, while doing so, began his own journey as a main stage DJ expanding House Music worldwide.

After numerous guest spots at some of New York’s most famous clubs including Limelight, Club USA, Tunnel, and Save The Robots, Tedd was handpicked by Leslie Doyle to spin alongside all-star DJs Louie Vega and Tony Humphries at The Magic Sessions, the first breakout party of Winter Music Conference in Miami. Tedd’s specific sound made him a pivotal player at the party, which gained him a legion of followers worldwide. The subsequent release of the “Sessions Twelve” compilation on Defected Records as well as Tedd’s first production, “Welcome To The Magic Session” on Strictly Rhythm Records only served to further solidify his global reputation.

“My sets are about fusion. I’m not an old-school soul, classics, or gospel house DJ. I’m adventurous, and my musical repertoire is very diverse. I like the soul that exists in a variety of musical forms. What appeals to me most is fusion and contrast—that’s most obvious in how I program my sets and produce my music. I’m not afraid to take a chance, and that has become my signature, and that works for me.” — Tedd Patterson

Back in New York, Tedd established a 13-year residency at the award-winning club Cielo, with his party called VIBAL. He also served his loyal fans abroad, playing for Ministry Of Sound in London, Panorama Bar in Berlin, Pacha Ibiza, Stereo in Montreal, and The Angels Of Love in Italy.

As a record producer, and remixer, Tedd’s productions appear on influential labels including Defected, Nervous, and Rekids. His collaborations with Pete Heller, Eric Kupper, and Chus & Ceballos have now become House Classics.

Recently he’s produced works for The Illustrious Blacks, Inaya Day, and Joi Cardwell. He’s also remixed projects for Louie Vega, Honey Dijon, and Meshell Ndegeocello. Tedd is a resident DJ at Battle Hymn in NYC, and enjoys sporadic appearances at a few underground hotspots. He’s also a featured player at Horse Meat Disco and Glitterbox.

“Tedd Patterson is one of my personal heroes. His artistry and passion for music laid the foundation for how I present music to this day.” — DJ Honey Dijon
