Castro & Nemo, the children of Swiss Cuban mariners, grew up together in a house alive with the spirit of revolution. While professionally trained as an architect and a beautician, respectively, it is in the free-living societies of Berlin nightlife that they have fully realized their ideas for how to shape a modern Disco Utopia™ There is Sound Metaphors, of course, the central hub to the scene and easily the friendliest record shop in Berlin. There are the many record labels replete with scores of releases that, while being broadly different in style (the prerequisite for a metaphor) share one crucial common thread - to dance ! Their own custom built H.A.N.D. Sound Systems are fast becoming a feature of the disco landscape across the world and then, of course, there is their DJing. We’ve all heard of the actually legendary legendary 18 hour sets in the Berghain Lab but there is more beyond that : in the space of a few short years, Castor & Nemo have taken a monochromatic and monosyllabic Berlin and graciously turned it on its head, soaking it in bright, colorful sonic energy to the delight of a new generation of Berlin club kids.
