For over a decade, 10,000 HOURS has driven societal change through initiatives that unite communities and empower youth. As a co-initiator of projects like Music Moves, 10,000 HOURS has made a lasting impact. Across the Netherlands, Music Moves offers a free 5-part evening program covering themes like connection, event organization, social organizations, and social entrepreneurship & leadership. Each year, we train hundreds of young adults who then organize music events with special groups in mind. These include discos for young adults with disabilities, techno raves for the deaf and hard of hearing, open stages for the homeless, salsa workshops for the elderly, and DJ clinics for refugees. Our participants organize at least 50 events annually with groups who don’t typically have access to such experiences. In Amsterdam, Music Moves is part of the Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE), where participants host official ADE events at locations like homeless shelters and care homes.
