Mr. Marceaux (FR)

Artist

This was at the age of 13 in 1986 that Mr. Marceaux (Christophe Marceaux) knew exactly what he wanted to do with his life, be a radio DJ and make people dance.

38 years later, this is still a position that he holds with a genuine love and devotion.

At the end of the 80s, he spent hours learning how to mix and scratch US and French Hip-Hop music which led him to become the official DJ of 2 Rap bands from Paris, even performing the opening acts of famous French groups in some big stages such as the Olympia in Paris.

In 1991/92, influenced by the sound of producers such as David Morales, Frankie Knuckles, Steve ‘Silk’ Hurley, Masters At Work, Maurice Joshua and the remixes of artists such as The Brand New Heavies, Incognito and more, Mr. Marceaux gradually transitioned from Hip-Hop to House Music and it is first on radios that he played this new style (at that time) followed by clubs.

In 2005, he created with 3 friends “DEEPINSIDE” named in tribute to the track of Hardrive.

By combining 3 of his passions: Radio, Mixing and House Music, the project quickly found its audience and DEEPINSIDE became in 2009, the most listened House Music radio in Europe on Internet and ranked number 2 in the world.

DEEPINSIDE is then listened to in 173 countries and achieves 1.2 million listeners per month.

In 2006, DEEPINSIDE became a resident of the most emblematic French clubs, the QUEEN Club Champs Elysées Paris, inviting Jamie Lewis, Grant Nelson and Hardsoul as guests for the DEEPINSIDE SESSION of the QUEEN, followed by national and international tours.

In 2011 Mr. Marceaux made the difficult decision to end the 3 DEEPINSIDE radio stations due a lack of economic models for web radios however a few months later, thanks to many messages of support from the House music community, listeners and fans of this project, Mr. Marceaux decided to relaunch DEEPINSIDE but this time, in the form of a podcast.

A partnership was quickly established with the platform Mixcloud and listeners could find DEEPINSIDE first with archives of the radio, then with audio sessions mixed by DJs and producers from the international House scene. Within 3 years, DEEPINSIDE became one of the most followed House podcasts in the world. Sandy Rivera, Opolopo, DJ Spen, Ultra Naté, Stacy Kidd, Richard Earnshaw, Sean McCabe, Random Soul, Full Intention, Dennis Quin and many other artists played for DEEPINSIDE. This is still the case today.

In 2014, Mr. Marceaux launched the « DEEPINSIDE RADIO SHOW ».

A weekly radio show broadcasted for several years on about 50 radio stations around the world (Kiss FM Melbourne, Radio FG Paris, Freak 31 Amsterdam, NYC House Radio, Party Groove Italy and more) and dedicated to Soulful and House music.

In 2016 in Portugal near Porto, Mr. Marceaux opened his own club under the DEEPINSIDE brand, the DEEPINSIDE Superclub.

In 2024, few milestones have been reached:

● DEEPINSIDE has nearly 600 radio shows on its various platforms.

● The DEEPINSIDE RADIO SHOW is celebrating its 10th anniversary.

● DEEPINSIDE will celebrate its 20 years existence in 2025

A journey made by a music lover for the music lovers.
