Matt Caldwell (GB)
With nearly 20 years of diverse experience spanning just about every key role in the business, Matt Caldwell leads MCPR as its Founding Director, overseeing the growth and success of artists and labels across the global electronic music landscape. From nurturing emerging talents to amplifying festival headliners, his expertise has cemented MCPR as one of the premier PR agencies in electronic music.
MCPR’s 14-year journey has delivered their unique PR management skillsets to hundreds of artists and labels including the likes of Francis Mercier, OFFAIAH, Tomcraft and premier labels including Spinnin’ Records, Universal Music Group, Armada Music, Defected, Toolroom and Virgin Records.
MCPR also pioneered their core Artist Progression Management system which has operated as an incubator to navigate emerging talent from the bedroom studio into full time professional careers as world touring DJs, and Producers signed to major labels across the electronic music genre spectrum.
As a lifelong student of music, Matt’s formative years included working with iconic clubs such as Ministry of Sound London in the UK, and as a multi-summer season regular in Ibiza - with the likes of Eden and Privilege, where he managed promotions for the legendary Brazilian club Warung.
In 2012, he launched MCPR with little more than a laptop, and determination to provide a disruptive and unique form of PR service to the industry that he did not see being offered during spells working in Management at other agencies. MCPR has since grown into an international operation, with Agents centred in London, Northern Ireland, Colombia, Armenia, and Malta.
Aside from MCPR, Matt is a highly regarded voice and thought leader in the music industry. Over his career has contributed for Mixmag, DJ Mag, DMC, Amnesia Ibiza and many more. His spell as International ‘Editor at Large’ for DJ Mag Brazil further underscored his passion for the electronic music world.
Matt was also invited to author the ‘PR & Promotion’ chapter of the best-selling book series The Dance Music Manual. This famous educational resource sits in thousands of universities and colleges worldwide.
Matt holds a gold badge provided by LinkedIn, as a ‘Top Music Industry Voice’ and regularly contributes free content to support the current, and next generation of professionals in our space.
As MCPR continues to flourish, Matt remains dedicated to pushing the boundaries of music PR, exploring new markets, and leveraging the latest innovations in digital marketing and technology.
His journey is far from complete, and with his sharp eye for disruptive innovation in a traditionally rigid profession in the industry, MCPR is poised to remain at the cutting edge of the electronic music world.
