Mathieu Glissant (FR)
PhD candidate and lecturer in Film Aesthetics at the Université Paris I Panthéon–Sorbonne, Mathieu Glissant also writes and directs films (documentaries and fictions). For several years now, he has been conducting research on forms of obsession within cinema, while working as a director of photography for Cercle. After two years teaching philosophy at a secondary school in the Paris suburbs, he spent several years in French Guiana developing a series of workshops offering initiations into the practice and theory of cinema, in collaboration with the French Ministry of Culture and the local authorities. His professional activities intertwine an academic, creative, and pedagogic taste for cinema.
