Marie Midori (SE)

As a solid actor on the Berlin scene since 2014 and one of the core organisers at Femme Bass Mafia, Marie teaches the basics of DJing as well as how to navigate the start of one’s DJing journey, touching upon mental health and first steps in the industry.

A kid of the 90s and heavily influenced, her earlier childhood memories consist of watching MTV and producing mixtapes from radio recordings of artists such as Beyoncé and the Backstreet Boys.

She taught herself guitar while volunteering as a scout leader, performing expletive laden love ballads around campfires and leading schoolgirls through the dark forests of Slovakia where she even survived a bear attack.

After a brief stint busking on the streets of Dublin and little Irish villages to pay for her beatnik lifestyle travelling to odd corners of the globe, she then spent 3 years studying to be a German teacher before dropping out just before she graduated to become a DJ.

Marie's intricate sound oscillates between odd, introspective and groovy. Dedicated to finding the dancefloor balance between musical education and rave, she blendstogether a broad variety of styles within her sets ranging from percussion-driven Bass,Breakbeat and Techno, to psychedelic house journeys under their "metaverde" moniker.
