Makam (NL)

Artist
The Amsterdam based Makam (The Hague, 1986) has proven to be one of the biggest names coming from the Dutch electronic music scene. Even though Makam still is in his early twenties, his musical experience already reaches over 10 years. Playing all major clubs and festivals all over the world, Makam has become a staple of what house music is suppose to be. Born and raised in The Hague on the Dutch coast, Makam literally grew up with electronic music. With his family and friends being a constant factor of new musical input, Makam decided to take musical matters into his own hands. A fortunate decision, as he had struck a creative nerve which revealed his raw talent. Emerging himself in music, he mastered the art of music production and found his own unique style. After being a prisoner of his own studio, Makam set himself free and decided that it was time to share his music with the world. The rest might be history, but his bright future has just begun. Within these 10 years, Makam shared his infectious vision of house music in the most respected clubs (Trouw, Panoramabar, Robert Johnson, Fabric, Rex) and festivals (Awakenings, Lowlands, WTTF, 5 Days Off). Finding a steady base at Sushitech Records, he start dropping bombs like ‘New York Hustler’, ‘Deep Loving’ and ‘How Long is Now’, which were all highly received by institutes like Resident Advisor and Groove Magazine. De:Bug rewarded ‘How Long Is Now’ with Vinyl of the Year 2010. Already established as a leading producer and dj, Makam has only just started. Currently working on some interesting new projects, all to be shared with the world soon. Just keep your eyes open for this guy, you don’t want to miss out on this one.
