Maggie Khorami is an electro-acoustic composer based in the Netherlands, with a background in classical music, Fine Art, and a degree in Sonology from the Royal Conservatoire of The Hague. Her creative practice spans sound and light installations, audiovisual performances, and live electro-acoustic improvisation. Maggie’s work integrates a wide range of sonic elements, including custom-built acoustic instruments, urban and industrial sounds, and synthesized tones crafted through innovative creative coding. Her passion for exploring new technologies drives her to constantly push the boundaries of sound design, crafting immersive and cutting-edge sonic experiences.

Maggie has expanded her artistic focus to explore the complex relationship between sound and light. By integrating these two powerful sensory elements, she seeks to create immersive environments that shape how audiences perceive and interact with space. This exploration, especially evident in her ongoing project, "Quasar", investigates how the fusion of sound and light can disrupt conventional perceptions of time and reality, offering transformative and multi-sensory experiences.

In "Quasar," sound mirrors natural phenomena and explores a range of thematic concerns, including personal and collective experiences.
