Hidden Memory (VE)
Emmerson Hernández is a DJ, musician, and producer from Caracas, Venezuela with over two decades of experience in the Latin American underground electronic music scene. In the early 2000s, he co-founded the audiovisual collective Babylon Motorhome and was a member of Simpl3, pioneers of Venezuela's drum & bass movement.
In 2002, with Babylon Motorhome, Emmerson became one of the first Venezuelan artists to perform at the prestigious Sonar Festival in Barcelona. After relocating to Barcelona in 2008, he collaborated with notable artists like Cardopusher and helped establish the Abstractor collective, introducing dubstep and global bass sounds to Caracas. His journey continued in Santiago de Chile, where he founded Diamante Records and performed alongside top international acts.
In 2018, now based in Amsterdam, Emmerson launched his project Hidden Memory, gaining acclaim for the Dark Rhythms EP, which fuses Afro-Venezuelan polyrhythms with underground club sounds. His recent collaborations include work with Dos Ritmos (Luca Lozano/Phran) on Klassrecks and Phran’s Laguna EP on Ediciones Villasonora. Known for his genre-blending, forward-thinking sound, Emmerson’s music continues to push boundaries with an unrelenting focus on the dancefloor.
