Emma Warmelink (NL)
Emma Warmelink, born and raised in Rotterdam in a Dutch-English family, started her musical life on the piano at the age of 5. Three years later she started playing the cello and continued to combine these two until her studies. She completed her bachelor's degree at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague, in the class of Lucia Swarts. She also studied with Roel Dieltiens at the Hochschule der Künste of Zurich and then obtained her master's degree with Emanuele Silvestri and Michael Stirling at the Conservatory of Amsterdam.
Individually, Emma has participated as an academician in the Pacific Music Festival in Japan 2020 & 2021. In October 2022, she won the Splendor Prize as a soloist at the National Cello Competition of the Cello Biennale Amsterdam. Previously, she won the Donemus Prize at the Princess Christina Competition for her performance of a modern solo work.
