Christiaan Elings (NL)

Christiaan Elings is program manager of the Green Deal Circular Festivals, on behalf of the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and Water management. In the GDCF, he works on strengthening cooperation of a community of over 50 European frontrunner festivals from 17 countries, and the government. To ‘rethink’ the norm for a future proof sector, accelerate scaling of innovations across the sector and to cities. By doing so, the festivals of the GDCF aim to inspire a green movement of the sector and society. Over the last 20 years, Christiaan worked for governments worldwide, to build collaborations for the sustainable transformation of various sectors. Related to the topic of this panel, Christiaan has extensive international experience with developing and implementing plans and programmes related to water resources management and climate adaptation, in which he works together with governments, water authorities, and various public and private stakeholders.
