AMÉMÉ (BJ)

Artist & Speaker (Artist)

Specializing in Afro-leaning electronic music, AMÉMÉ’s DJ sets are eclectic, and diverse, paying musical tribute to his West African heritage. One Tribe is AMÉMÉ’s artistic endeavor and global collective that encompasses the 3 pillars of Hubert Sodogandji, AKA AMÉMÉ’s identity – music, art and fashion. Originally conceived in the Fall of 2017, One Tribe launched as a curated event series preceding its expansion into a now-thriving, independent record label that showcased the seminal sounds that came to define AMÉMÉ. Quickly introducing innovative sounds and forward-thinking approaches to the genre, One Tribe quickly became an identifying home of Hubert’s coined brand of ‘AMÉMÉ house’, seeing early One Tribe releases finding their way into the sets of the likes of Black Coffee.

The 2020 independent release of the pivotal “PATCHIDO'' preceded a meteoric rise for AMÉMÉ, seeing the project build unprecedented momentum. AMÉMÉ’s One Tribe has become home to a new wave of talent, with some fresh faces making their debuts such as Bontan, enoo napa, NenaHalena, ARKADYAN, Nhii, Lazrusman, and more. Closing out 2023 placing #15 on Beatport’s afro-house label charts, One Tribe is well ahead in its’ rise to prominence as a power player in afro-house and beyond.

Bringing his rich West African heritage into every aspect of his artistry, AMÉMÉ this year has revived his signature One Tribe events concept, relaunching at fabric London, in the midst of a quarterly Amsterdam residency at Shelter, hitting Ibiza and Egypt’s and a homecoming date in New York. One Tribe’s resurgence comes alongside a packed summer of AMÉMÉ festival appearances like Awakenings, Tomorrowland Belgium, Sonus, and Audio Obscura, plus an enduring Ibiza presence at Lee Burridge's All Day I Dream, Jamie Jones' Paradise, Bedouin's Saga, Rumours, and more. AMÉMÉ will be hosting his own percussion-fueled rituals on dance floors across the world for many years to come, uniting the global community and reminding us that we are all One Tribe.
