Aldonna (AU)

Artist

As a DJ/Producer and Founder of event/mix series/music blog Re-Leaf, Aldonna has rightfully marked her position as one of the most exciting new talents to come out of Australia in recent times. Coming off the back of her debut international tour through the summer months in the EU/UK and successfully playing 12 shows across the continents, she shows no signs of slowing down any time soon.

Name checked as an experienced ‘selector’ well beyond her years and carrying along a rapidly growing discography of her own productions, Aldonna holds a keen ear and talent for bringing light to those uncovered lost gems which inspire her the most. She wanders slickly through 90s and early 00s euphoric electronic soundscapes, touching on trance, breaks, psychedelic, progressive house, and techno. However, pigeonholing her sound would be giving her work a huge disservice. She conjures unique sonic palettes yet brings together one vast yet identifiable sound and culture - rave music.

Aldonna’s staggering debut EP ‘Morph’ on New York Imprint ‘Homage’ was no mean feat. Empowering, immersive, bubbling. Following on recently with her second EP ‘Angel Numbers’ which came in the form of 4 joyous hits of euphoria, released on Bristol vinyl only imprint ‘Sex Tapes From Mars’. The record excitedly bounced through its track list and the numerous blissed-out progressive and percussive grooves within it. Alongside these releases she has also contributed tracks to numerous highly successful VAs on labels such as Permanent Vacation, Semi-Delicious, Terrazzo Trax, Maai Records & more. Her unique approach to music production has led to incredible credits, premiers, and reviews from the likes of Mixmag, Trommel, Resident Advisor and support from many esteemed artists such as Job Jobse, Palm Trax, Saoirse, Sally C, Cromby, Jennifer Cardini, Eris Drew, Octo Octa, Eclair Fifi, Fantastic Man & more.

Evidently, Aldonna is one to watch. She continues to prove herself as a powerful figure in dance music with a momentum and following that is swiftly expanding.
